Retail inflation accelerated to 5.76% in May, a near two-year high, on the back of pricey food items, dashing hopes of any reduction in interest rates cut by RBI in the months ahead. The food price index jumped an annual 7.55% in May from April’s 6.4% year-onyear increase.
