Unable to get what he wanted at the tripartite meeting in New Delhi on Saturday, Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik is now busy charting the roadmap for the future.
With Chhattisgarh chief minister minister Raman Singh rejecting Odisha’s demand to stop all construction activities on the Mahanadi upstream, Naveen has called a cabinet meeting on Sunday to decide the next course of action.
An official source said the state government is exploring legal options to resolve the Mahanadi water sharing dispute.
The Odisha government may also move the National Green Tribunal (NGT) challenging the construction work as the projects undertaken by the Chhattisgarh government could have serious threat on the ecology.
