In the run-up to the three-tier panchayat elections, chief minister Naveen Patnaik went on an inauguration spree during his whistlestop tour to Jagatsinghpur district on Monday. He inaugurated four projects and laid foundation stones of 16 others within two hours.
The chief minister made assurances pertaining to sanctioning of houses, roads, bridges, drinking water and infrastructure.
The chief minister inaugurated the newly-built district Sanskrti Bhavan at Jagatsinghpur built at the cost of Rs 3.61 crore and a Skill Development Training Centre at Tirtol. He also inaugurated a bridge over the Devi river at Devidola. He also laid foundation stones of Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya at Salijanga and a bridge over the Biluakhai river at Sankharisahi, a drinking water project at a cost of Rs 137 crore for the seaside villagers of Erasama, Nuagaon and Naugaon and a milk chilling centre at Bhatapada.
