In the wake of fatal road accidents, the state government very often announces or introduces new schemes to minimize them. One such innovative scheme of the regional transport office (RTO, zone-II) here was launched last year to catch traffic violators with the help of photographers.
But the scheme appears to have come a cropper.
According to the plan, the RTO had hired a group of photographers, who were asked to take photographs of traffic violators and give the pictures to the concerned transport officials for action. Launched on December 3, 2015, only 30 photographs of violators reached the RTO.
