Supreme Court Serious About The Diary Seized From Hindalco: The Supreme Court on Monday questioned the CBI about the diary that has been seized by the agency during its raid on Hindalco in connection with the coal block scam.
SC Questions CBI About The Investigation Regarding The Diary Seized From Hindalco
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) have been asked by the Supreme Court on Monday to give the detailed information about the steps that were taken in relation to a diary which had been seized by CBI during investigation into a coal block allocation case from Hindalco group.
The Supreme Court asked the agency weather it has examined the diary from the aspect of a criminal offence and was serious about why the diary has not been yet examined which have the possibility of containing contents, allegedly reflecting payment of bribes, for possible offence under Prevention of Corruption Act.
The CBI in replying to the question said that the diary has been handed over to the income tax department after finding that the diary was not related to coal block scam saying that an amount of Rs 25 crore unaccounted was found in the diary contents and was handed over to IT department.
