The Janata Dal (Secular), taking an aggressive stance with regard to the Kalasa Banduri nala project, has decided to extend their support to the September 26 Karnataka bandh called for by pro-Kannada organizations.
Speaking to the media after a four hour long meeting with the JD(S) MLAs and their national president H D Deve Gowda, party state president H D Kumaraswamy said the decision was unanimous to support the September 26 bandh.
“We also have decided to seek time with the Goa Chief Minister to have a discussion with that state, considering our government and the BJP do not have the time to speak to them and convince them of the seriousness of the issue,” said a sarcastic Kumaraswamy.
The former Chief Minister said he will be shortly writing a letter to the Goa CM Laxmikant Parsekar in this regard.
At the other end, Kumaraswamy said his father and former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda will be seeking time to meet the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss the issue.
