About 20,000 women are likely to take part in thecelebration today on Lower Tank Bund
The Government of Telangana is making all arrangements for the grand finale of the nine-day long Bathukamma festival on October 20, with Saddula Bathukamma celebration on the last day.
Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has directed officials to make necessary arrangements from the village-level to the State capital by providing floodlights at water bodies where the Bathukammas, arrangements of flowers in conical shape, are floated in the water to end the celebration.
The government is expecting about 20,000 women from different parts of the city and from surrounding districts to take part in the Saddula Bathukamma celebration on the Tank Bund on Tuesday. A meeting chaired by the Principal Secretary in the Chief Minister’s Office was held at the Secretariat to review the arrangements for the finale on the Tank Bund.
