The curvy Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ lands in India for Rs 57,900
“The Galaxy S6 edge+ flaunts a 5.7-inch QHD curved screen, a slim design, and a powerful Exynos processor”
Soon after unveiling the Galaxy S6 edge+ last week in New York, Samsung has brought it to India. The Galaxy S6 edge+ is the successor to the S6 edge, and is larger and slightly more powerful than the older model. The phone’s main highlight its display that is curved on both sides.
The Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ sports a 5.7-inch QHD (~518ppi) Super AMOLED display with a layer of Corning’s Gorilla Glass 4 on top to protect it from scratches. It’s slimmer than the Galaxy S6 edge at 6.9mm (as compared to 7mm). The phone is powered by an Exynos 7520 SoC, which has four high-power cores running at 2.1GHz and four low-power cores clocked at 1.5GHz, aided by a meaty 4GB of RAM.
The camera department includes a 16-megapixel optically-stabilised rear shooter with an LED flash, and a 5-megapixel front snapper for self-portraits and video calling. The phone comes in non-expandable 32GB and 64GB variants. In terms of connectivity, the device offers 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC and GPS. A 3,000mAh battery keeps the handset alive, which can charge fast even with wireless charging. Software-wise, the Galaxy S6 edge+ runs Android 5.1 Lollipop with Samsung’s custom TouchWiz UI on top. The device also sports a fingerprint sensor embedded into the home button.
