NBW Against ACB Cheif Meena: A non bailable warrant has been issued against ACB Chief MK Meena by the commission of inquiry formed by Delhi Govt for CNG fitness scam.
Anti Corruption Bureau chief MK Meena about to face trouble as the commission of inquiry formed by the Delhi government for investigating the multi-crore CNG fitness scam issued directions for execution of a non-bailable warrant against Meena on Friday.
Directions were also issued to attach 30% of Meena’s salary by the commission. The action has been against Meena by Retired Justice SN Agarwal for failing to present himself before the Commission as per directions sent by the commission earlier this month.
On September 3 the SN Agarwal Inquiry Commission issued summons to Meena for passing an order asking the ACB not to share any information with it or any of its representatives.
CNG fitness scam case of 2002 was reopened by ACB in 2012, in which some top officers including Shiela Dixit were accused of extending favours to a few companies issuing fitness certificates to CNG vehicles running into Rs.100 crore, but the investigation didn’t go well as the Aam Aadmi Party Government resigned after a 49-days of its power.
Later in December 2014, AAP slammed and questioned the silence of the Union Government and Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung on the alleged involvement of top bureaucrats in the matter.
Meena, appointed by lieutenant-governor Najeeb Jung as ACB chief, had probed the CNG fitness scam and filed a charge-sheet in court last week.
The Union home ministry had declared setting up of the commission as invalid saying that “The MHA terms the commission of inquiry constituted by the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi as legally invalid and void ab initio.”
